Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists with category strategy by leveraging spend analytics and supplier research; captures and reports supplier spend, spend under management, and maverick spend; Expected to update Ariba’s contract management module with fully executed contracts (Master Service Agreements, Statement of Works, Non-disclosure agreements) and other contractually obligating documents while maintaining accuracy.
Assists in the assessment of primary and secondary research, competitive analysis, supplier analysis, and industry best practices. Responsible for listening to value propositions from potential suppliers and assessing if the proposed solution is a fit for company
Coordinates meetings and discussions with potential suppliers
Assists in the identification of potential suppliers for creation of requests for proposals (RFI’s, RFQs or RFPs), and manages contracting from negotiations to agreement for contracts $250,000 in value; facilitates the review and approval of all legal documents types ex. (MSAs and/or SOWs), where appropriate and responsible to notify team members of upcoming agreement expirations and renewals
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, information technology or supply chain management and two years of professional job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing manager (CPM) and two years of professional job-related experience preferred
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Basic knowledge of sourcing principals, indirect procurement, supplier analysis, RFP and primary and secondary research methods
Understanding of financial/cost analyses, business case development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and decision modeling
Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills to effectively interact and negotiate with senior management, internal and external customers, and suppliers
Aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating and selling new concepts while also being able to take an analytic approach to problem solving and strategic development
Strong personal computer skills with experience in MS Office
Strong personal computer skill with experience in SAP, and Ariba and Fieldglass software are a plus.
