Location & Duration

This is a full time, temporary, 6-month position which qualifies for health benefits, sick time and paid holiday time off. The estimated end date is January 2025 with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position based in the Walnut Creek, CA office and requires three days per week office attendance. This position does not qualify for remote work or relocation as it is a temporary position.

Description:

The Planning Specialist performs various duties to ensure and assist with processing customer orders and supporting order fulfillment activities. This individual coordinate the daily activities of customer order fulfillment and facilitates interactions between Sales, Logistics, and other key departments. This role will also be responsible for product allocations and reallocation required for final execution according to sales policies and customer requirements, as well as investigating and resolving complex customer issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete various transactions in SAP and Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Create, maintain and update internal reports and dashboards used by leadership and cross-functional teams for supply and demand tracking, forecasting, tracking KPIs, and business decision-making
  • Provide availability and future supply advice to Sales Ops team and Sales team
  • Review, adjust and process (final processing) of Internal Purchase orders with a high level of accuracy
  • Analyze and allocate supply to Sales orders, with consideration for contractual obligations
  • Review weekly demand and sales forecasting in collaboration with the Sales and Planning teams; consolidate and present key insights to executives to support decision-making, resource planning, and revenue tracking
  • Collaborate with Sales, Planning, Factory Order Fulfillment and other key departments to prioritize, reconcile and re-allocate supply in shortage situations; Consider customer obligations, terms, potential penalties and aged-inventory situations when making tactical decisions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree preferred but not required
  • 3-4 years planning and order fulfillment of tangible products
  • Advanced skills with MS Suite applications (especially Excel required)
  • Hands on experience with SAP and CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Power BI experience is a plus, not required
  • Affinity and passion for managing large data sets, demonstrated proficiency with statistics
  • Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently/proactively manage cross-functional issues and execute solutions
  • Ability to maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to assess multiple tasks, prioritize and develop a plan to execute with
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, concisely and professionally
  • Results oriented, organized, highly motivated and detailed; Ability to consistently maintain a high level of attention to detail is essential

Compensation and Benefits:

Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits. Our generous benefits package includes a medical, dental and vision program and paid sick time off and holidays off.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 – $90,000. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
